TREKKING AU TADJIKISTAN

Shuhrat was a fantastic guide on what was a tough treck to the Lakes in the Pamirs. Wonderful scenery and great camp sites. Travel and home stays all efficiently arranged (the journey down to the Pamirs is an epic journey in itself) and when opportunities arose tea and yoghurt shared in remote herder's huts. Thoroughly recommend Treck Tajikistan for their efficiency and care. David

We had a very good, personalized 10-day hike in the Fann Mountains with 'Trek Tajikistan'. It was a really great tour through the Fann Mountains with a very pleasant mix of homestays and camping. Very well organized with a flexible guide, Shuhrat, who went beyond the call of duty to give us real insights into his country and culture. Flexible not only in adapting the trip to our wishes, but also when one of the participants had problems with his health, to find a good solution for each of the participants. Well done Shuhrat! The homestays were better than expected and the campsites good. Our luggage was transported by donkeys. Big compliment to the donkey driver who also set up the tents. So very satisfied and worth repeating! ))

I chose this 6-day trek with Trek Tajikistan because I was interested in meeting the Yaghnob people (considered to be descendants of the Sogdian-speaking peoples who once inhabited most of Central Asia beyond the Amu Darya River). We stayed 2 nights in villages along the Yaghnob Valley before heading to Tagobikul Valley and then crossing into Ziddi Valley. The highlight of the trip for me was crossing the Leila Pass at 3,900 m and camping by Lailakul lakes at 3,400 m. If you are interesed in avoiding the more touristy areas and experiencing how people in remote mountainous villages live, then this is the one for you!

My wife and I joined a five-day trek in late August. We had a few questions beforehand, and Shuhrat (our guide) always replied honestly and efficiently. The scenery along the trek was absolutely beautiful, and everything was very well organised. Shuhrat was especially attentive to me, as I was usually the slowest member of the group. Considering the logistical difficulties of the trek, the food was also surprisingly delicious. Perhaps the only negative surprise was that several groups follow the same route, so at times you are not completely alone when camping. On the other hand, we really enjoyed the opportunity to take a short swim in some wonderful lakes. A very enjoyable and highly recommended trek!

I’ve spent fantastic days on the Fann Mountains. Our great guide Shuhrat led us through very nice hiking and let us understanding the way of life and culture of the people living in those villages.

Highly recommended for anyone planning treks in Tajikistan. We (a group of 3) did a 8 day hike in the Fann Mountains. Our guide Shuhrat was amazing and helped us customize the itinerary to suit our requirements and even helped to drop us off in Samarkand on the last day along with our suitcases which they kept. Prior to the trip, Shuhrat was responsive and addressed our many queries, even providing us with advice on where to stay, visa requirements etc. On the trek, everything was well planned out, including the logistics, donkey / porter, camp equipment, food and even water filters were provided for drinking water. Overall would highly recommend Trek Tajikistan and Shuhrat!

Unquestionably one of the highlights of a long trip through central Asia. We spent 3 days trekking with Shuhrat - eternally good humoured, knowledgable and curious in equal measure. The scenery is stunning and the walking just the right level of toughness. The locals that we stayed with went out of their way to make us comfortable. As did our driver Bobo. Really recommend these guys to trek with. And the Fann Mts are stunning... definitely go.
